John Henry Adams 72, of Killingworth, passed away Wednesday, January 13 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was born on April 21, 1937 in Meriden. He graduated from Meriden High School in 1955 and went on to work at Eyelet Specialty in Meriden/Wallingford for over 20 years. He joined the Army Reserves in 1956. His passions were sports, UCONN basketball, country music and traveling with his wife Joyce. John played baseball in high school and softball for Eyelet Specialty.John's family moved to Killingworth in 1969 where he coached little league. He loved working with the kids for many years. If you were lucky enough to know John you would recognize the great sense of humor and wit about him. He was a very caring person. John loved his job at Whelen Engineering in Chester due to the fact that he could talk his way through the plant. Whelen was his extended family. He retired from Whelen, May 31, 2007. John will be missed and loved by all who knew him.John was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Lori Ann, his parents Harry and Ann Adams and his brother Harry Adams Jr.John is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Joyce Boucher Adams, of Killingworth. By his children John R. Adams, of Branford, Cindy Ellison of Clinton, Scott Adams of Deep River, sister Sally Nadwairski of Clinton. Son-in-law Andrew Ellison, brother-in-Iaws Joseph Nadwairski of Clinton, Raymond Boucher of Arizona, sister-in-law, Angie Boucher of Arizona. John leaves behind his beloved granddaughters, Jaimie and Jackie Ellison of Clinton, Jessica Ellison of Pennsylvania, Kristine and Alexa Adams of Clinton. His aunt, Mary Polick, of Meriden and many cousins, nieces, nephews as well as many devoted friends.Funeral services will be at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, on Monday January 18, 2010, at 12noon. Family and friends may visit the funeral home, from 10:00am until the time of service.
