I have lost a wonderful friend who was my neighbor for many years. When Walt moved we stayed in contact via phone and I will always remember our friendship.

My first assignment as a cub reporter at The Columbian in 1963 was with Walt and it was an experience I'll never forget. Over the years we worked together, there many other unforgettable experiences as he became something of a legend around the newsroom.
