A longtime resident of Stamford, she was employed by the City of Stamford. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Joel Slocum, in 2001.
She is survived by her son Robert W. Slocum and his wife of Savannah, Georgia, four grandchildren, Karen Demes, Amy Slocum, Robert W. Slocum Jr., Margaret Del Rosario and six great grandchildren.
Marie’s family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10:30 am till 11:30 am at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. Stamford. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 at the funeral home with a burial immediately following at Long Ridge Union Cemetery.
