Theda Earline York

Theda was born in Iredell County on September 14, 1938 to the late Shirley Clay York and Julia Earl Stroud York.

She loved to research her family genealogy.

Theda is survived by her sister, Shirlie Christine York of Mocksville, NC; her brother, Gene York and wife Linda of Greensboro, NC; her nephew, Brandon York of Greensboro, NC; her great-niece, Madeline York of Greensboro, NC and special family friend Kay Koontz who provided special loving care for the past 12 years.

The York family would like to thank Dr. Michael Corbett and the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their outstanding care they provided for Theda and her family.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday February 20, 2016 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, 705 Davie Ave., Statesville, NC 28677 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm with a celebration of life service beginning at 2:30pm in the Westmoreland Chapel in the funeral home. The interment will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery, Harmony, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 in Theda’s memory.
