Kathi,I remeber the first time we met...it was at Randy's apartment and he made pork chops for dinner. I believe he inherited your talent for cooking! That fall & the next spring you and I spent time geting to know one another at Christian's soccer games. Our families began to share holiday meals, or if you and I both wanted to prepare a turkey and have our own left-overs, we would just get together for dessert! I remember attending Christian's elementary school performances with you and Randy and most recently, all of us, including Jason, going to the 8th grade Madrigal evening at Kinard Jr. High...the 4 of us enjoyed being together and watching Christian perform and raising our glasses throughout the evening each time we drank our ""Wassel"". What a wonderful memory we made that evening and I know Randy was so proud of Christian and so proud to have you there Kathi. Remember sitting on the hill at City Park on a couple of 4th of Julys watching the fireworks together...it seemed magical when the sky lit up! Another great memory was when we all went to see ""A Christmas Carol"" one December and you were all dressed up and you looked so beautiful Kathi. I remember the good feeling I had inside of me that day knowing how much you were enjoying yourself. One of my favorite memories I hold in my heart is when you came by one summer morning to pick up little Maggie and came in and got yourself a cup of coffee and sat and visited with me...it was so comfortable visiting with you that morning. I want to thank you Kathi for taking the time to get to know me because you knew how important Randy and Christian are to me. This past week I had the privelege of getting to spend time with Shirlee, Larry, DJ, Aunt Sissy, and Uncle Ricky and I got to know them a little better. I can tell you the strength and support Randy, Christian and all of them  give each other is incredible. I know how proud you are of each one of them Kathi. Mom, Tonight is mine and Christian's first night alone without you here since this all began for us one week ago tonight. I spent last Sunday alone reflecting and hurting. I was looking at your pictures today I have on my digital frame and just looking at your smile brought tears of happiness and sadness. When I saw you fly away yesterday I was in Awww. Mom I feel lost right now without you here you were going to call me tonight after Big Brother to talk about the winner but as you already know Adam won. I had a hard time out today when Christian and I were at the store it was hard to be around people with so much sadness and feeling lost without you here. Mom I have and always will Love you I never stopped. As I have read through this listing of the things people have written I see more lives you have touched even ones I didn't know and sure you didn't know but, you were more loved than you thought and knew. I will wake up tomorrow and work hard to make it through and with the strength you taught me I know in some way I will and I will be OK. We have our day and I am not sad about it I feel Proud to share my Birthday with my Mother now. Mom the door is open for you to come in and watch TV with me or just sit and listen and talk to me please know your always welcome no need to knock or call ahead just come and see Christian and me please. I have known Kathi for as long as I can remember.  I considered her my second Mom for the first 10 years of my life.  During the hard times and during the good, she was there to take care of me.  I remember all the places we lived together as one big blended family with me and my Mom, Shirlee, Elroy (Randy), and â??little Larryâ?.  Even though we all lost touch 30 years ago, I always thought about her and hoped we would have the opportunity to reunite.  I had been trying to find everyone for a very long time and one day last March my wish came true.  Iâ??ll never forget the phone call I received from Kathi.  Just hearing her voice brought so much joy for me.  I was so happy to hear she was living in Colorado near her Son and Grandson.  We had so much to talk about and found the time to spend many hours on the phone catching up.  I was so excited to share my experiences and accomplishments with her and she was proud of who I became.  We got to talk about her finding the Lord and all the personal struggles and triumphs in her life.  I got to thank her for helping me strengthen my relationship with my Mom.  She had so much room in her heart for me again and was delighted to hear every detail of my life and raising my own Daughter.  My only regret is that I was not able to physically see her and give her the hug I had waited so long to give her.  My memories of Kathi will always be of that beautiful blonde bombshell with the hardiest laugh that I still hear vividly today.  I love you so much, Kathi.  Rest now and be at peace.  You will forever be in my heart and missed terribly.

I remember when it was Nana's birthday and my dad and Aunt Sissy were going to surprise Nana by Aunt Sissy coming out to see Nana from California, and my dad told my that if Nana calls that i should just tell her that my dad went to Safeway, but i wasn't really listening because i was too interested in playing my video games so I didn't know what he said, then, ironicly, 5 minutes later Nana calls and asks me where my dad is, and i tried to remember where he said he was going, and i told her he was going to the air port to pick up Aunt Sissy. Then she asked me if i shouldve said that to her because it was her birthday. And then I was all like, oh, I'm sorry Nana. Then ironicly again, my dad calls me when Nana hung up, and I told him that I told Nana that he was at the air port. And he started gettin angry at me because he told me not to tell her about it. So he did some quick thinking and told Nana that he said to me that he was going to safe way with someone and she belived it. Wen me and my dad brought Aunt Sissy to Nana's house, she was as surprised as she could ever be. I love you Nana, and I miss you...Love,Christian Montalbano

Dear Kathi:  I remember back when we met at Ocean Beach, when Shirlee was a newborn single child and Tammy was 2.  We used to cook together so all would be fed.  Then you had Randy (Elroy) and things changed.  We both had to go to work and lived together.  We grew up together and all our kids did just great.  It took a long time for us to talk again, but last Christmas was so good.  It brought it all back.  So now, I pray that you go with God and are waiting for all of us when we see you again. We have thought about you all, every moment of every day since we got the news of Kathi passing. She was dearly loved by all of us, and especially so by Eddie Dee. She will truly be missed. We take great comfort in knowing that she has gone to be with so many she loved and was loved by, that were also taken away from us too early, but equally comforted by the thought of being with them all again one day. Time will ease your pain, but will never erase all the wonderful memories you have to reflect upon, and share with each other. Those are the things that will keep her close to your heart forever. Hi Mom, After the services today I realized how much God has worked in your life and how you touched those who spent the last 3 years with you. You were an amazing woman and Mom. Aunt Kathi was one of those aunts that  always reminded me of old times. I can remember back to when i first moved into my very own room and she took her own time to make me some pillows to make me feel special about my room, and it made me feel that she wanted to put some love from her in that room. Every time i would ever talk to her she would remind me of this special lamp that i had given her when i was 10. she said it reminded her as if it had happened yesterday. We miss Kathi with all our hearts! She will be forever missed and forever loved.This is a horrible event, but a lesson learned. There are no words to express my emotions at this time. My Aunt Kathi was a fixture in my life for many many years. I always thought she was larger then life with her laughter and personality. She had so many traits that I admired and wished that I had. Her ability to speak her mind no matter what was always a trait I wish I had. I am not that great with words but in speaking my mind at this moment, I have to say that we are saying good-bye to a wonderful woman who had so much to offer those around her. A woman whom I wish I could have known better as an adult then as a child. I know my Aunt Kathi loved me and I know she knew I loved her. She was responsible for my love of purses and shoes. We used to trade every time we saw each other. I will cherish every memory I have of my Aunt Kathi. She was honest, loving, caring and strong. I can only hope that I have learned enough from her to become the woman that she always knew I could be.I love you Aunt Kathi. You will be missed deeply.Your Niece,Lynn

It is with a heavy heart signing this guest book.  To your children I say stay strong and know how much your mom loved you.  I hope the past 4-5 years has shown you that.  To her grand children, oh do we have some great stories to tell you.  Your grandma loved you very much.  To her brother and sister, well I think we know the love and respect that has developed over the years.  The friendships that have formed between Uncle Ricky, and my mom over the past few years is amazing.  I will miss you very much.  I love you very much. I met Kathi while working on my externship for Dr VanFarowe. She later hired me to work for Dr Sunthankar. She quickly became a dear friend with whom I could share anything. We spent hours laughing, talking, crying, & sharing. She taught me more than I could possibly mention!  She will be sorely missed by me & my husband - she loved to joke with him!
