
Bobble Juneau, 84, passed away and went to be with his beloved wife, MiIIie, on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. For the past four years, he was a resident of Ollie Steele Burden's St. Elizabeth Center. He was born in Avoyelles Parish in 1926, graduated from Mansura High School and attended LSU on the G.I. Bill. He and his family moved to Baton Rouge in 1957. He loved woodworking, Big Band music, military history, eating good home-cooked meals and watching TV. He adored his three grandchildren and especially enjoyed being Kris Kringle for them at Christmas time. Bobbie proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He served as an usher and was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 2807, American Legion Post 38, International Association of Machinists and Woodmen of the World. Bobbie was employed at Copolymer Rubber&Chemical Co. for 34 years. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment In Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his only child, Susan Juneau Lambert and husband Lionel, of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Brad A. Lambert and wife, Amy, of Baton Rouge; Erin Lambert Mayeux and husband Philip, of Spring, Texas; Dane P. Lambert and wife Erin, of Baton Rouge; three great-grandchildren, Brennan and Emma Grace Lambert and Cole Mayeux. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Millie; parents, Arthur E. and Mathilda Juneau; sisters, Ethel Bonnette, Addle Smith, Bessie Roy, Doris Roy; and brother, Harry Juneau. Heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. Patrick Gahan, Lynn Pennington, Ms. Earline, Betty, Shirley, Sonya, Nikke and Vertabelle who cared for him so lovingly the past four years. Thank you also to Cathy, Paulette, Alice, Neely and Barry from Amedisys Hospice for their assistance in the final days.
