Aletha is survived by her parents Ken and Lucille Banner, brother Gordon, and sister Zennia. Her husband Calvin and her devoted children Elliot and Celeste,
as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, great nephews, niece and many cousins.
She left behind her loving husband Calvin, whom she tormented his craving for creampuffs and other sweet bakery goods, however taught him to like and cook healthy foods, even if that meant ‘no meat’ meals. This man had her heart… Aletha expressed her love for Calvin — “After I gave birth to Elliot, I fell in love with the idea of Mr. Rogers, this man, was the first man I had ever seen who showed me a man could be kind, compassionate and love children. Then I met my husband to be. He reminded me of that and I fell in Love; I had more love in my heart than I had ever experienced”.
Aletha was a ‘super’ mom in every sense of the word, totally devoted to her son Elliot, 24, and daughter Celeste, 17, who needs 24/7 care. She would do anything for her children, and worked hard to make sure they had the building blocks necessary to live life well. Anybody who knew Aletha would tell you, she did it all!
Aletha also leaves behind her mother, Lucille Banner, from whom she inherited a talent for growing a substantial beautiful garden, (a talent she freely shared with any friends and neighbours that would let her into their yards). Aletha firmly believed you can sustain good healthy eating in your own yard year round. She had a passion for to reading, researching, and keeping up with all types of information related to healthy living and enjoying life.
Aletha is survived by her older brother, Gordon and her nephews Cortez and Cieran who she adored and loved having them over often. She also proudly attended as maid of honour to her sister Zennia’s wedding, and loves that pretty little cheeky faced niece Aiyanna too.
Aletha also leaves behind her uncles and aunties, and many cousins. Now she no longer suffers pain and joins our spirit in the skies - her beloved cousin Craig.
This beautiful, loving lady, Aletha is forever in our hearts and is truly missed by all.
"Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and
very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love
leaves a memory no one can steal”.
