He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene; daughter, Leanne (Glenn), son, David (Elizabeth); and grandchildren, Leah, Ben and Alexa; and his sister, Barbara Radmacker.
He was predeceased by his father, David Brownlie; and his mother, Gladys Brownlie.
Barrie was a member of the famed New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse team that won the Minto Cup in 1959 and the Mann Cup in 1962. Barrie was also a long-time member of the Chilliwack golf club.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.
Donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
