Charles Vincent Mulville

Charles Vincent Mulville was born in Liverpool England on April 6, 1932. His parents passed away when he was young and ended up living with his aunt and grandmother before attending boarding school for his education. As a young man, Charles worked as a manager at the Fruit Exchange and as a hotel manager trainee. In 1949 Charles joined the Royal Air Force as a Ground Radar Mechanic. He served for 5 years until 1954. During this time, he met his first love, Theresa Agnes Meehan, a mail order supervisor whom he married on November 27, 1954 in Southport England. Together, on Charles' Indian motorcycle, they rode off to the Mount Pleasant Hotel. In 1957 they immigrated to Canada to join Theresa's parents and siblings and start a new life together in Montreal, Quebec. Charles began working for Stelco before moving on to the Ford motor company in a managerial position. He progressed to managing the Davidson Rubber Company in Port Hope Ontario. In 1972, Charles moved the family to Red Deer Alberta before moving permanently to British Columbia in 1973 where Charles worked as an Industrial Engineer for a firm in Vancouver. He travelled extensively and had numerous stories to share. His love for photography and trains was abundant as his slide and photo collection boasted. Charles and Theresa retired in 1984 and moved to 100 Mile house. Theresa passed away in 1993 and Charles developed a strong friendship with Dorothy Higgins and the two married in May 1995.

Dorothy passed in 2007 and Charles remained in 100 Mile House on his own until he suffered a stroke and was put into long term care. In the year to follow he relocated to Coquitlam and eventually settled in Aldergove, BC.

At the golden age of 91, after battling dementia, Charles passed away peacefully on the morning August 31, 2023.

Charles will be truly missed and remembered for his charm, humor and love of people, His memory will live in his son, Stephen Mulville (Henriette), daughter Veronica Kushnerenko (Reg) and Grandchildren Vincent, Sabrina, Christina, Thomas and Michele.

A memorial service for Charles will be held Monday, September 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S1M1.
