Cornelis Carl Bylenga

On Friday, December 17, 2021, the LORD took to Himself, His child Cornelis Carl Bylenga, age 92. He is the beloved husband of Joppa Bylenga, nee Boot, loving father of Anthony and Evelyn Bylenga, Carl and Fiona Bylenga, Joanna and Ted DeVries, Neil and Heather Bylenga, and Calvin and Cristie Bylenga, cherished grandfather of 16, dearest great-grandfather of 30, and the fond brother of Jaap and Lida Bijlenga and Wim and Trudi Bijlenga, Renny Bylenga, Gerd Bijlenga, Hanny Bijlenga, and Wil Bijlenga.

We are comforted by the prayers of our family and friends and in the assurance that God has given us in His Word.

2 Corinthians 5:8-9

Yes, we are of good courage and we would rather be away from the body and are at home with the Lord. So, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.

Romans 14:7-9

For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Canadian Reformed Seminary’s Library in remembrance of Cornelis Carl Bylenga.

A graveside for Cornelius will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hazelwood Cemetery, 34070 Hazelwood Ave, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7R1. Following the graveside will be a memorial service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Abbotsford Canadian Reformed Church, 33947 King Rd, Abbotsford, BC V2S7M7.
