It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnie DeFehr at age 86. Even though it was sudden, we are comforted as we reminisce of the wonderful memories we share of him and knowing he has been reunited with the loved ones that went before him, especially his son, Gregory and daughter, Sharon, as well as his brother and sisters.
Arnie’s family immigrated from Nikolaidorf, Russia to Canada in 1925, choosing to settle in Abbotsford, BC where he was born and raised, met his wife to be, Lorna and then raised his own family. He lived a rich life surrounded by all who loved him.
Arnie had many interests but above all else he valued and cherished every moment he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He shared his love of fishing, the outdoors, cooking, and gardening with all of them, many of whom have carried on his passions.
Arnie is survived by his loving wife Lorna of 65 years. His sons, Steven DeFehr (Rocio), Randall DeFehr (Simone), daughter-in-law, Michele DeFehr, grandchildren, Lorissa DeFehr, Keith DeFehr, Kirtus DeFehr (Julie), Tina Fuerst (David), Brittany DeFehr (Ross), Kayla DeFehr, Lindsay Fargey (Matt), Brett Paget (Shelby), and Gareth Paget. Along with many great-grandchildren, Makayla, Marshall, Vaughn, Christian, Evah (Joshiah), Kiana, Tiffany, Titus, Natalie, Joshua, Jacob, Katie, Rodin, Hewitt, Benson, Grace, Emmett, Heath, Genevieve, and Fraya.
A memorial service for Arnie will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
