He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; 3 sons, James (Kim), Robert (Jill), Wayne (Kerrie); 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his brother, Walter (Hertha) Temple, sister, Elsie (Leif) Hatlen; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ernie was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the Abbotsford Regional Cancer Centre.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3845 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lutheran Hour or to the FVHC Foundation in support of the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
