He was predeceased by his parents Gavin Owen and Catherine Griffiths.
Gavin is survived by the love of his life, his wife and best friend Darlene (for over 50 years). Lovingly remembered by his children Ryan (Jenny) Griffiths, Jody (Cory) Wellicome, and Troy Griffiths. His grandchildren Taelor, Morgyn and Carys Griffiths, Caden and Wyatt Wellicome. He also will be sadly missed by his many friends and people he worked with throughout his life. It gave him such joy to be able to help people. He was doing this right up to two weeks before he passed with his phone at his ear or sending a text.
Gavin was involved with sports in some form most of his life. He was President and Event Organizer of The Bradner Community Club for sixteen years and also resided in Bradner all his life. At the age of sixteen Gavin drove gravel trucks until 1977. He then went to work for CP Air/Canadian Airlines from 1977 to 1998. After he left the airline industry he became the farmer he always longed to be working for Bradner Farms and Golden Gate Farms from 1998 to 2021. Gavin courageously battled Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer for over 2 years. Even on his last days he still found humour with his family by his side. Gavin always had a positive outlook on life.
