Hi Larry,

We are praying for your family - what a tough loss for all of you.  Heather brought such fun and zest for life in Jesus - an amazing testimony. 

I wanted to let you know that my hope is to come to the funeral however the Coquihalla mountain pass weather for Friday is looking treacherous. (We live in the Okanagan for seven months of the year.)

I remember Heather saying back at U of G “it wouldn’t be a day without weather”. And although it made me laugh then I’m afraid weather may keep us physically apart now. 

Please know that we will be lifting all of you up in prayer that day and the many days ahead.

I met Heather in Grade 9 at Massey. We were a part of a great friend group who have been friend's for life and gotten together roughy every 10 years on significant birthdays getting all caught up on each others life events. It was just after our last friends get together Heather shared news she was battling brain cancer 10 years ago.  Since this We have remained in touch via Zoom calls and group chat  Heather reached out last summer  when Color Purple remake came out remembering when we all went to see original color purple movie with our moms in high school and wanted see if we could all coordinate to watch new version 😃. Heather kept messaging in our chat until she could not anymore but we kept in touch h via Larry who kindly read and played our messages to our Heather. Our strong , beautiful loving and faithful Heather you truly are dancing free now.  I miss you my friend . Sending my love to Larry and kids, Mrs MacEwan and Mary Jean and family. love Allison

Heather was such a beautiful person. We went to high school together. She was always full of joy and her smile would warm everyone she met. I enjoyed being around her and sharing many classes together. I was just thinking about her and she has been on my mind a lot recently. She truly glorified God in her life. Everyone loved her. She is missed. My prayers are with her family during this time.

I went to Central, Massey and Guelph with Heather. I would see her quite a bit on campus and always enjoyed our conversations. She was a genuinely kind person and I've often thought of her over the years with fondness and warmth. My condolences to everyone.

I met Heather at Vincent Massey in grade nine. There wasn't a kinder, more gracious and intelligent person that I met during high school. Even though we had different backgrounds and different faiths, there was common ground in caring for each other,  our families and our community. 
To Heather's family, my deepest regret on her passing and I am comforted in knowing your faith will give you great comfort and support. She was my friend and I will miss her tremendously.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. MacEwan, Mary Jean, Heather’s husband and children. I have so many fond memories of Heather from when we were kids on Rockwell. Be at peace now Heather

Larry - I am so sorry to hear she has gone home, but I’m very glad her suffering is over. My heart goes out to you and the kids. She was a very special lady. My best memories with you guys are the canoe
trips, of course. Was thinking just the other day about our first trip in Algonquin. You had driven all day to get us there, it was dark when we got on the water and set up our tents with the headlamps. Heather had not felt well and slept the whole way up. You passed out in your tent the minute we got them up, but Heather was feeling better and wide awake!! She convinced me to stay up and play cards until I finally had to kick her out so I could get some sleep! She was always ready for fun and laughter, and she brought people together like few I’ve known.  I have many fond memories. I pray you and the kids allow yourselves to grieve in your own way and time.  It’s comforting knowing she is with Jesus who she loved so much. Grace and peace to you, friend.

I had the great honor of being a recipient of Heather's love and hospitality. Her smile and warmth brought me great joy and belonging. She was called to suffer for the name of Christ and she did so with a grace and dignity reserved for the dearest of Christ's children. Her faith was evident in the midst of such suffering and her legacy of faith will be celebrated in the heavenlies for eternity. Well done good and faithful servant. Enjoy your eternal reward and and we will join you in the Lord's time.
