Henrietta Pauline Olson

We are sad to announce the passing of Henrietta Olson, (nee Brunger) who made her transition on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Henrietta was born and raised near Inwood, Manitoba. In 1946, she married her sweetheart, Gordon, and in 1949, they moved to Texada Island, BC, where they raised their two daughters and were active in the church and square dancing. In 1988, they relocated to Abbotsford, where they continued dancing and took up bowling. After Gordon's passing in 2008, Henrietta enjoyed several years of bowling with her friends at Menno Pavilion. Henrietta was predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Hans and Marie and brothers, Fred and Jorgen. She is survived by her daughters Iris (Lorne) and Marion (Barry), grandchildren Kevin (Karina), Janine and Jennifer (Geoff), great-grandchildren Jenna and Caden, brother, Hans (Margita) Brunger, as well as sister-in-law, Agnes Brurok and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A private family celebration of life will be held in Nanaimo on Thanksgiving weekend, and her ashes will be taken home to Inwood at a later time.
