Holly had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known to say the most shocking thing she could think of, in hopes of helping you see a new perspective, or to make you laugh. She made her whole family laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated facial expressions, and all her silly sayings. She was kind, generous and compassionate. Even when she spoke in anger, she was often the first to apologize and to try to heal what was broken. She believed in autonomy and dignity and a person’s right to choose the life they want. She struggled with the concept of tough love and was fiercely independent and private. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and disfunction. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, and always kept on loving them.
When Holly became a grandma (namma) it began a whole new chapter for her.
The grandkids was her whole world, her sidekicks and her best friends, what kept her going, they were the light of her life and ‘partners in crime’; they always shared a knowing, conspiratorial smile, and a ton of inside jokes. Sleepovers at namma’s were one of the kids favourite things to do, junk food, movie nights, shopping trips, crafts and painting the walls in the spare bedroom. Namma would let the kids have all the fun there and they all enjoyed a bit of quiet time with Sinfield or Judge Judy.
Holly will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
