In loving remembrance we mark the passing of Jacquelynne Vivian Duguay, born Jacquelynne Vivian Green on March 26, 1954 to Frederick and Zoe Green in Kingston, Ontario, where she grew up in a loving home with her parents, her brother Fred and her sister Lorraine. She graduated from the Brockville General Hospital school of Nursing and married Paul Duguay, started a family and moved to Abbotsford B.C. remaining a loving and devoted wife, and the best mother David and Daniel could ever hope to have.
She had a distinguished career including 28 years as a group psychotherapist and Forensic Nursing specialist with the Correctional Services of Canada where she served with distinction and acclaim, receiving international recognition and commendation from the Governor General. To protect others, she showed compassion to even her most disturbed clients; she always believed in a path to redemption, in addition to a lifetime of worsening physical pain that she endured.
None of that stopped her from loving life, from vacations spots, music, movies and countless other fun events with her many friends and loved ones, and voraciously reading with her cherished book club. Many hundreds of lives were improved through knowing her grace, beauty, intelligence and her compassionate, giving heart. She served as Queen of the Abbotsford Red Hat Society, the "Scarlet O'Hatters" for whom she cared dearly. On September 1st, 2024, Jacquelynne's heart could give us no more. She passed on Sunday of a heart attack following a lengthy illness at home in Abbotsford, and was released from her pain. She is survived by her husband Paul, her sister Lorraine, her sons David and Daniel, and her nephews Jim and Scott. She will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. She loved flowers, and all of us.
