

He is survived by 3 children: Chris, Catherine (Al) and Hugh (Sandy); 3 grandchildren: Meagan (Mike), James (Lauren) and Katelyn (Eric); and 2 great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Madilyn.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Alice in 1985.
After service in the RCAF from 1942-1945, his education and work revolved around the field of Pedology – soil science. He was a pioneer in this field and spent his working years at the University of Saskatchewan, from where he retired in 1988 after an impressive and accomplished 38 year career. Some of his fondest memories were of the people he met, taught and worked with over his time with the university.
Jim and Ruth (Zoorkan) enjoyed their years in BC from 1989 and she predeceased him in 2013.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held next spring in Saskatoon.
Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Salvation Army.
