Jentje J Deboer

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our father, Jentje (Joe) de Boer, whom went to be with the Lord on Monday September 27, 2010 at 71 years of age. After immigrating to Canada from the Netherlands in 1966, Joe spent many years working on his dairy farm, Forefields Holsteins, on Matsqui Prairie. Joe was finally enjoying retirement by actively volunteering with many organizations, clubs and mission works until this was unfortunately interrupted by lung cancer. Joe led an active life, enjoying bowling and gardening and frequently rode his bike 40 km a day until just a few months ago. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, watching Jeopardy, eating chocolate and beating his sons in Rummikub. Joe befriended many people throughout his life in his various activities and will be sorely missed by all those who loved him including his two sons, Scott (Julie) and Aaron (Stacey), his sister Emmy, his brothers Rintsje (Maaike) and Jelle (Akke) and his 7 grandchildren (Avery, Ike, Micah, Jesse, Gwen, Kooper, Lewis. We love you Pake!).

Thank you to the doctors and staff at Mission’s Christine Morrison Hospice, who lovingly cared for Joe in his last days. .
