USMC Marine:
In the summer of 1960, Joe and one of his childhood friends decided one day to join the USMC (United States Marine Corp). He attended 13 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Base - Camp Lejeune in NC. After 3 years in the USMC he received an honorable discharge and, with a now lean muscular body, sharp mind and good looks, he was ready to take on the world!
Husband, Father & Entrepreneur:
Joe met the Love of his Life Gina and her two boys in 1966 and were married in 1970! Almost without hesitation and only 3 days after their wedding & honeymoon, they headed 3,000 miles west to Vancouver, British Columbia! As a husband & father, he was always a very good provider and did whatever he had to do to make sure his new family was taken care of.
Joe's resume/carrier reflects, photographer for The Canadian Film Board & Canadair, tin smith for a duct & heating company, mail carrier, mover for a moving & storage company and small restaurant owner of "Smokin Joe's" before he and Gina decided to start their own house building business known as JB Construction! Having built 200 plus homes here in BC, they completed their last home together in 2008 where they both passed away peacefully just shy of two years apart.
Dad, we hope you are now reunited with Mum and we will be sure to keep you both in our hearts.
