It is with great sadness that the family of Lucille (Lou) Paterson announce her peaceful passing with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Michelle (Rob), Kim, Todd (Ping), Christine; her sister Terry Cummins and most of all her beloved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband (Dr. Jim Paterson), brother (Raymond Hebert) and her parents (Paul and Henriette Hebert).
Born in the French community, of St. Boniface, Manitoba, Lou graduated from the School of Nursing (St. Boniface Hospital) and started to make her way out west, eventually settling in Abbotsford, BC. Lou worked at the MSA Hospital as an OR Nurse until her retirement (1995). She often spoke of her career and her many friendships over the years. Lou enjoyed traveling which led her to explore many places around the world. She loved tending to her garden, a good cup of tea, her animals, National Geographic, finding the latest treasure at a local thrift shop and to collect (many!) cookbooks. Most of all, Lou loved her family and adored her grandchildren. If you knew Lou, then you know she would do anything for her family. She always ensured that not only her children but her grandchildren were looked after.
We love you and have peace in knowing that you are finally at rest.
The family wishes to send gratitude to the staff at Menno Home who provided our mother both care and compassion over the last few years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
