Margaret Helen Leboe passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 25, 2025, with all five of her surviving children at her bedside, surrounding her with love as she quietly slipped away to spend eternity with Jesus, her Lord and Saviour.
Prior to her passing, her family & friends gathered to celebrate her incredible life and her 101st birthday. It was a day full of laughter, shared memories, and hugs, exactly how she would have wanted it.
Born in 1924, in Saskatchewan, she lived in Prince George, Vernon and Abbotsford; over a century of life with resilience, grace, and an open heart. Losing her own mother at a very young age shaped her deeply giving her rare empathy and a strong belief in the importance of cherishing your parents while you have them. She made it her life’s work to love generously and to show up for the people in her life.
She was the proud mother of six children. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred Leboe (Wilf), eldest son, Ernie Leboe (Evelyn), she is lovingly remembered by her five surviving children and spouses: Ann Leboe (Lorne Welwood), Kenneth Leboe (Gisela), Beckie Leboe (Al Unrau), Lynn Leboe (Steve Grice), and Daniel Leboe (Darlene). All of whom loved her dearly, her legacy lives on in her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, too many to count, but each one held close in her heart.
She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and part of something special. Whether it was a dinner, party, trip, or spontaneous celebration, she was always in. She loved family, fun, and life itself. Her spirit stayed adventurous. She continued driving her motorhome until she was 91 years old.
At 5 a.m. on Monday, we gave her our final hugs. With a strong and unwavering faith that sustained her throughout her life, we played How Great Thou Art by Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill, a powerful hymn that perfectly expressed her love for God and the beauty of her departure.
She loved her family, and anyone who needed kindness. She gave selflessly, offered support freely, and always had enough love to spread around. Her square-pan apple pie, especially the gooey corners became a legend in our family, just one of the many small, sweet traditions she created that will live on for generations.
We are deeply grateful to the staff at Cottage and Worthington Pavilion for their compassionate care during Mom’s two-year stay.
Your professionalism and sincere care for your residents will never be forgotten.
Margaret lived a long, beautiful life, and she is, and always will be, our wonderful mom.
Details about a celebration of Margaret’s life will be shared at a later date.
