C. Neil Allert died at the Holmberg House on April 28, 2025 at the age of 91. He was surrounded by his loving family: Shirley, his wife of nearly 70 years, son and daughter-in-law Gord and Liz Allert; daughter and son-in-law Denise and Jay Danziger; son and daughter-in-law Craig and Corinne Allert, grandchildren: Emily (Tyler) Allert-House, Katelin (Brad) Nahnybida, Drew Allert, Paige Allert, Courtney (Cynthia) Saxbee, Brooke Saxbee, Parker (Amanda) Saxbee, Tyler Allert, Zach Allert; great-grandchildren: Bella Allert, Lucy Smith, Jake Smith, Isaac Smith, Ruby Smith, Audrey Saxbee, Connor Saxbee, Isla Saxbee; great great grandchildren: Lavender Shirley and Atlas Cornelius; sister Hilda Allert. Neil was the owner and operator of Woodlawn Funeral Homes for many years until his retirement over thirty years ago. He is fondly remembered by the many families he served in their time of great pain and loss. Many people will remember him for his kind smile or his sense of humour, but it was the way he lived out his faith with humility and grace that impacted his family and friends the most. His compassion and deep commitment to Jesus Christ made him a lighthouse in our community that impacted countless lives.
