She was a dedicated member of BCGREA, an active participant in the Abbotsford war brides association and a devoted caregiver to her dog Katey. She loved unconditionally those who survive her: her daughter, Wendy; grandson, Kris Garbet; brother, Newton Douglas and “adopted” daughter Verna Taskinen.
Norma enjoyed her senior years and the quality of life she had. As she said just days before her passing, “I had a good life, a good husband, a good marriage, two wonderful children and an exceptional grandson.”
The love she had for us will forever remain in our hearts. She will be missed beyond words as she reunites with those who predeceased her: her husband, Rae, and son David.
Memorial service on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local SPCA.
