Richard Kirk Felske

Rick was born September 15,1959, in Burnaby, BC. to Gordon and Dorothea Felske. The family moved many times throughout BC and Rick attended many different schools. They eventually settled in Abbotsford, where he married his wife and raised 3 boys, and lived until his passing.

Over the years, he's had a variety of different jobs, including liquor store, building mobile homes, waiting tables at the Keg, selling cars, security at the old MSA hospital, selling homes, driving concrete mixers, coffee house, driving chemical trucks and pilot cars. Seemed his favorite was driving and he did that until his passing.

He also had many hobbies including woodworking, pottery, painting, building models, cooking, riding snowmobile, gardening, mechanics, riding motorcycles, gold panning, listening and enjoying classic rock music and drinking good coffee.

Rick was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and had other health complications along the way. He was a stubborn guy and fought all the way through. His faith in God kept him fighting. He continued to work when health allowed throughout the years.

Rick loved his family and spent his time trying to instill a good foundation and set of morals and work ethic for his boys. He was a loving and caring husband to his wife Ruth. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Because of a neighbour introducing him to The Alpha course, Rick received Christ as his Saviour in February 1st, 2001, and was baptized May 6th, 2001. Rick loved his new Alpha family and helped facilitate often. He also prayed in earnest for Salvation for his family and friends, especially these last years.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth of 35 years and sons Shane (Dawna), Derek (Billie) and Nicholas (Kaitlyn), 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, 3 siblings Barb (Greg), Pam (Gunther), Bill (Marilyn) as well as inlaws Esther (Henry), Irene (Charles), Naomi, Lorrinda, Dan (Ann Marie), nieces,nephews and friends.
