Born and raised in Assiniboia SK, she was a long-time resident of Abbotsford.
She enjoyed a distinguished career in education as a teacher and administrator.
Born in the depression, she overcame many challenges to train as a teacher, ultimately achieving a Master’s Degree in Education.
A long-term breast cancer survivor, she devoted many years to supporting breast cancer awareness programs. Ruth was a dedicated volunteer in many other community organizations. She was well-known and loved by many.
Through her, we know what perseverance and resilience truly look like.
She is survived by her brother Roger (Lucy) and her three children; Neil (Lyn), Heather (Chris) and Joe (Carole). She was proud of her five grandchildren; Glen, Alanna, Brett, Scott and Kiana, and greatgrandchildren Layne and Kayce.
