Born: June 15, 1912
Amritsar, Punjab, India.
Sardar Sardul Singh was born in Punjab on June 15, 1912. He lived in Chak #36, Lalpur, India majority of his youth. He was a farmer, and helped his two brothers farm the land which was passed down the line from his grandfather. Today the region of his youth is known as Faisalabad, Pakistan, It was renamed after the partition of India in 1947. He had to relocate with his wife Sardarni Suchain Kaur and their 4 children at the time and leave everything he owned and re-establish himself in Udho Nangal, Amritsar, Punjab, India.
In Udho Nangal he had two more children and had to sacrifice his hard work to educate his 2 sons and 4 daughters with what little he had. But through all of this he kept a positive mentality and persevered through hard, honest work. After 30 years of living in Udho Nangal at the age of 65 years old he had the opportunity to relocate his family to Abbotsford, B.C, Canada and give his family a wonderful opportunity of a new life. He came to Canada on Jan 1 1978 to start all over again.
Sardar Sardul Singh was sponsored here along with his wife and youngest son and daughter, by his newly wed daughter Jaswinder Kaur and his son in law Sardar Palminder Singh. They came here motivated and optimistic to create a better life and establish themselves for their family. He and his kids went straight to work on a local raspberry farm. Although he was 65 years old he never complained and worked harder than the young men, not taking a day off, work. He continued to work until he was 75. His eldest Daughter still lives in India, wife of late Captain Sham Singh Dhillion and five of his kids are now here in Canada living a happy successful life with families of their own. All thanks to his hard work and positive thinking.
He is succeeded by his 2 Sons Narinder Singh and Kanwar Singh, his 4 daughters Surinder Kaur, Bhalvinder Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, and Jagraj Kaur and his 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his many friends. He left no stone unturned to show his faithfulness to his family. He left this world with no regrets. We love him and he lives on in our hearts.
He will be missed dearly!
