Sharon Jean Reimer was born on February 19, 1949 at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, to Stella and Peter Reimer. The firstborn, with Luella, Doug, Peter and Shirley to follow.
The family lived on a dairy farm in Matsqui Prairie where she lived for 18 years. She attended Matsqui Elementary school and later Abbotsford Junior and Senior, graduating in June 1967.
In grade 11 and 12 a new option of a secretarial program opened and she eagerly embraced it. It included typing, business machines, business communications and bookkeeping. This greatly prepared her for taking care of and helping to set up Ben’s home business of excavating, which started in 1968. In 1976 she took Accounting I at Fraser Valley College to more fully understand the accounting process.
Sharon committed her life to the Lord in her teenage years and in 1964, along with a group of young people that included her future husband Ben, was baptized.
After graduating in 1967, she married Ben Loewen on July 21/67 at Matsqui MB Church. Ben bought 8.8 acres of property on Hallert Road in Matsqui for them as their first home and raised cattle for extra income. In the next five years four children were born to them, Bernie (Dec 68), Rachelle (May 70), Darren (Jun 71), Trevor (Sept 72).
In 1978, Ben and Sharon bought a layer farm in Bradner, mainly to raise their children to have daily chores and responsibilities. They lived on this farm for 37 years. In 2015 they relocated to Smith Avenue and started a gravel pit business. Sharon continued to put to use her bookkeeping skills and managed the farms and business right to her passing.
Ben and Sharon shared their passion of music and were involved in Valley Festival Singers and church choirs etc. For many years, Sharon was part of a ladies singing group called Wayfayers and enjoyed the many friendships there. Sharon loved to play piano and was involved in playing for many functions. Regularly you would find her playing and singing at her piano. Even during her last weeks she would ask to be led to the piano and she would play worship songs.
She joined Bible Study Fellowship in 1984 and dedicated herself to studying God’s word, completing the 5 year course two times and eventually leading for 4 years. Sharon felt the call to be a light in this world and extend Gods love to those around her by sharing the gospel and spending quality time nurturing those relationships.
Sharon and Ben attended Ross Road Church for many years and Sharon was involved in ministry there. In 2017 they were drawn to Clearbrook MB Church and were excited to be part of the music ministry and enjoyed the last years making new friends and memories.
Sharon believed that Jesus is the resurrection and the life and that anyone who believes in him will have eternal life ….. that death is not able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8). Her heart was not troubled….she trusted in God and in Jesus and believed that there is a place being prepared for her where she will be with Him forever! (John 14)
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, she loved and served Jesus. We will miss her very much and look forward to meeting her once again!
She is predeceased by Ben, her husband of 54 years, and parents, Peter and Stella Reimer. She is lovingly remembered by her children Bernie, Rachelle (Karl) Dyck, Darren (Elissa), and Trevor (Lisa), 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Sharon will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the family only, friends are then welcome to join from 8:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC V2T2X5.
A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery, 33965 Maclure Road, Abbotsford, BC V2T6Z7.
Sharon's funeral service will occur Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Clearbrook Mennonite Brethren Church, 2719 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC V2T 2Y9.
