With deepest sorrow, we announce that Wade Joseph Doucette, age 44, our most beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend, was tragically killed on February 10, 2021, along with his trusted dog Balto.
Wade will be missed every day by his father, Phonse Doucette, his mother Monica, his sister Kelly (Justin) Stefanski , his nephew Reilly, and his precious son Arden. Wade‘s partner Kim, who brought him so much happiness and love this last year, will mourn him deeply. Also grieving his loss are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Although leaving his birth place of Port au Port, Newfoundland as a teenager, it was here his love for sport, the outdoors and adventure began.
An enthusiastic traveler, he backpacked much of Asia and Europe, even spending a few years living in both China and Mexico. However, nothing grounded Wade more than the day his son was born. He was a devoted father and a wonderful mentor, instilling his love for nature and music at an early age in Arden. Being Arden’s dad was his greatest joy.
A Water Treatment Operator, he was employed by the City of Kamloops for the last 10 years, and previous to that, at Sun Peaks Resort. It was in this career he so enjoyed that Wade formed wonderful friendships.
Anyone who knew Wade, knew he was incredibly kind-hearted and a generous soul.
A celebration of life will take place late spring in Kamloops, time and date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wade’s memory can be made to any youth organization of your choice.
