It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wanda Mary Adams (Zurowski) on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Trillium Bevan Village in Abbotsford at the age of 89. Wanda was born and lived most of her life in Abbotsford. She was the 2nd youngest of 11 children born to Abbotsford pioneers, Thomas and Florence Smith who raised their family on the corner of Clearbrook and Huntingdon Rd.
Wanda was predeceased by her husband Harold Zurowski, they raised their 4 children and were dairy farmers on Sumas prairie until his passing in 1971.
She lived in Cloverdale and Abbotsford with her 2nd husband George Adams until his passing in 2001.
Wanda is survived by her beloved children, Gail (Les), Donna (Chuck), Tom (Mina), Susan (Ray), Tami and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Wanda was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, a very hard worker, she could swing a hammer or throw a bale of hay, she took pride in her beautiful vegetable gardens, the pantry shelves were always full with canned vegetables and fruits, the freezer full of corn, peas and apple pies. At a moments notice she could make a Sunday dinner for 6 turn into a meal for 12 when someone would show up unexpectedly. She would shrug and say "Don't worry I'll just throw a few more spuds in the pot."
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC, 300 - 828 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1E2 or by calling 1-800-667-3742.
