Zach is grieved by his loving wife Annemarie, his parents Margaret Ens and Arthur (Denise) Toews, his brother Ben (Carly) Toews, his sisters Emily Sauve and Racheal (Justin) Locke as well as many nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to him as Uncle Buddy. He is also grieved by his in-laws, Stan and Wilma Vander Waal, Lorraine (Kyle) denBoer, Joel (Willene) Vander Waal, Allan (Mikayla) Vander Waal, Eric Vander Waal and many nieces and nephews who in only a short time loved him deeply.
Zach was a tall, strong man with a kind and generous heart, a gentle and patient spirit. Although a man of few words, when he spoke, he spoke with intention. Zach left his impression on people through his presence, his actions and his contagious smile, as well as his willingness to always lend a hand and help those in need and especially those he loved. He valued people and developing meaningful relationships. As a business owner, he was a well respected boss and lead his staff by example with his patience, understanding, and compassion, as he did in all areas of his life and with everyone he met.
Above all, Zach loved the Lord. His love for Jesus defined him. His story was one of redemption and he lived his life to honour and glorify God. From spending countless days appreciating creation in nature out hiking with Annemarie, to generously supporting local and international charities and volunteering at church and other local organizations. Zach was an example of God’s goodness and faithfulness here on earth.
He will be dearly missed.
