OBITUARY

Alexis Breanne Cunningham

May 26, 1997April 27, 2019

Alexis Breanne Cunningham was born in Abilene on May 26, 1997. She lived in Abilene until starting middle school at which time she moved to East Tennessee. Alexis graduated from William Blount High School (Maryville, TN) and moved to Aransas Pass, TX to live near her father.

Words cannot begin to express how much of a beautiful person Alexis was. Both inside and out. She had a smile and a personality that lit up any room that she walked into. She was hard working and had a free spirit. From the time that she was born she was full of adventure and wonder.

Alexis leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Aria and Aleigha. She is survived by her mother, Loran Cunningham (Maryville, TN) and her father, Aaron Cunningham and fiance Buffy Lambert (Aransas Pass, TX) and brother, Cody Cunningham (Maryville, TN). She is also survived by her grandmother, Beverly Hasty (Abilene, TX), grandfather, Jim Hasty and his wife Charlotte (Sweetwater, TX), grandparents, Linda and Ernie Cunningham (Aransas Pass, TX) and great-grandmother, Clelie Thompson (Abilene, TX). She had many aunts, uncles and cousins that are left behind as well.

Alexis was the epitome of a true friend. So many people have reached out since she passed to share their stories of Alexis. They are all the same, She was always there, would do anything to help. Alexis would literally give the shirt off of her back to help someone in need. There are way too many people to mention here - but know that Alexis loved you all dearly.

Alexis lived her life for her family and friends. She had many struggles but was working to overcome them. Ultimately, the things that she struggled with won out. She lost her battle with drugs and and passed away from an accidental overdose. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please reach out for help.

I’m literally so hurt and still can’t believe she’s actually gone. I’m so upset I couldn’t make it to her funeral to say my last goodbyes. Me and lex had so many memories from first meeting at KFC , all of our sleepovers , from bleaching her hair , to the late nights at KFC and many more. She was a great friend. Her last words to me were I love you and can’t wait to see you. Until we meet a again baby girl Rest In Paradise.

Making a great salary all she wanted was to be able to support herself n family and be stable even though she knew she could go back home with her mom and it may have been easier but lexi didnt want stuff given to her she worked for what she wanted n i absolutely saw her passion for her family in less than a year to be were she was at was a great accomplishment i always told her she was on the right road not many can do what she had done at her age. Lex -
I still can’t wrap my mind around you being gone. I had just talked to you a couple weeks prior. I will never forget your contagious laugh, your friendliness, the love you had for others, and how you always put friends and family before yourself. I am absolutely heart broken of this outcome. I have prayed daily for your precious babies, your momma, and Cody.

Save us a seat up there lex, we’ll all be reunited again one day. In the mean time, watch over all of us. I know we all need it.
I’m glad you’re no longer suffering baby girl. Fly high.

I met Alexis when she attended Maryville Middle School in Maryville, TN. I was a educational assistant in her study hall class. I remember her being a nice, friendly girl. She had lots of friends and I don't remember really having to get onto her about not doing her work or talking too much in class. She was always polite to me. My heart breaks for her family. I know what you are going through. I lost my oldest son who was 24 to an accidental overdose. It has been 2.5 years and I will tell you living through the loss gets more bearable as time goes on. The love and the empty space they leave will never go away, but you will be able to live life again. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Live free Alexis. You will be missed by many.

Lex, you had a way of making anyone smile just with your smile alone, let alone your personality. You were an amazing friend and was always there when I needed you. You have such a beautiful soul and you will be missed so much. I love you always sweet girl.💕

Little Lexi Lou was an amazing ray of sunshine for all those who were blessed enough to know her. My heart aches for her beautiful girls. I had the honor of watching Lexi grow up over the years and cherish every day that I had with her. Gone way too soon.
