Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011, in Elmwood Memorial Park with Reverend Luke Back officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Leota was born March 19, 1921 to Artie (Adkinson) and Bernard (Luke) Tidwell in Rising Star, Texas. She retired in 1991 after working 35 years for the Paleozoic Society. Leota was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club and the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Artie Tidwell and sisters, Nona Sanders and Alene Pittman.
Survivors include her nieces, Venita Rogers of Abilene and Judy Linville of Killeen, Texas and her dogs, Codie Linville and Buster Rogers.
