Amy Lee Martinez Portillo

Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Amy was born on June 20, 1979 to Roy Martinez, Sr. and Carmen (Cortinez) Martinez in Abilene, Texas.

Amy grew up in Abilene and attended school at Lincoln Middle. She enjoyed shopping and fishing. Her personality was very vibrant. She could light up a room and had a great sense of humor. She was a beloved mother. Though Amy faced many challenges through life her faith was a source of strength, she had a special devotion to the Virgin Mary. She met man people in her life and left a special place in their hearts. She had many fur babies she got to love on and spoil over the years.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Isabel Cortinez; paternal grandparents, Balbina Dela Cruz and Rufus Martinez, Sr.; uncle, Jessie Cortinez.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez Portillo, Jr.; her children, Joe Adam Martinez and his wife, Mariah, Julio Cesar Palma, and Joeleesa Palma; her mother, Carmen Garcia; her father, Roy Martinez, Sr. and his wife, Celia; siblings, Roy Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Jamie, Tommy Martinez, Sylvia Ann Martinez and husband, Thomas, and Destiny Garcia; special niece, Stephanie Maldonado; a dear special friend and soulmate, Santos Gomez; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, other relatives and special friends.
