With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Antonio “Tony” Angel Carrillo, of Abilene, Texas, who left us on Friday, September 26th, 2025, at the age of 51. Tony was born on January 16, 1974, in Dallas, Texas, to his loving parents, Willie E. Carrillo Jr. and Maria Teresa (Solis) Carrillo. His journey led him to Abilene, where he graduated from Abilene High School in 1992 and later pursued his degree at Hardin-Simmons University, graduating in 1999.
Tony dedicated many years to the students of Abilene Independent School District, where he taught at Reagan Elementary School. His passion for teaching and his love for his students were evident in everything he did. He later became a valued technician with Binswanger Glass, where he continued to make a positive impact.
While Tony’s professional life was meaningful, it was his personal life that truly brought him joy. He was a man of many interests and talents. He had a deep love for music, playing guitar with a heart full of passion and creativity. His family cherished the songs he wrote and performed, and those special moments will live on in their hearts forever. Tony was also an avid fan of baseball and a loyal Dallas Cowboys supporter, often sharing those moments with his loved ones. But above all, it was his family that brought him the most happiness. His time spent with his son, Anthony, and his beloved grandson, Levi, brought him endless joy and laughter. They were his greatest pride, and he adored every moment spent making memories with them.
Tony’s kindness, humor, and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will never fade.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Carrillo and wife Taya Carrillo; grandson, Levi Carrillo; sister, Angie Ledesma and husband Daniel Ledesma; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Each of them will carry his memory in their hearts.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. Carrillo Jr. and Maria Teresa Solis (Carrillo); his grandparents, Jesus Sr. and Maria Solis, and Willie Sr. and Lucia Carrillo; and his uncle, Jorge Solis Sr.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 S, Abilene, Texas, 79606, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM at the same location.
