Antonio C. Huerta

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Brady, Texas, with Pastors Heath Powers, Keith Clifton and Travis Monday officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, Abilene, Texas.

Antonio was born April 19, 1972 to Petra (Castillo) and Antonio C. Huerta, Sr. in Brady, Texas. He married Mindy Brown February 14, 1998 in Brady.

He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He touched many lives through his ministry. He truly had a gift of reaching everyone he met with compassion and humor. In his 20 years in ministry he served in Kermit, Brady, Sweetwater, Junction, Lohn and Winters. Tony was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time on the water boating, fishing, and playing with his girls. Tony loved being on the tennis court. He had a passion for music and loved playing his guitar. Tony had an energy for life that was contagious. He never missed an opportunity to share his love for Jesus and the joy of his salvation.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Huerta, Sr., paternal grandfather, Sabas Huerta, maternal grandfather, Benacio Samora, maternal grandmother, Tomasa Samora. Survivors include his mother, Petra Huerta of Brady, Texas; his wife, Mindy Huerta of Winters, Texas; two daughters, Selah Belle Huerta and Rhesa Eden Huerta of Winters, Texas; a sister, Cynthia Huerta of Brady; paternal grandmother, Santos Huerta of Brady; one nephew and two nieces; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A benefit account has been set up at Security State Bank in Winters. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made personally or anonymously in honor of Tony.
