Arthur James Traylor, Jr., 63, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, July 15, 2011 at Faith Deliverance Community Church with burial following in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6 to 8p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Arthur was born July 16, 1947 to the union of the late Arthur Sr. and Mattie Traylor in Pitts, TX. He attended school and graduated from Woodson High in Abilene. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September of 1968. He began driving trucks and became an independent driver until his illness, and was also an active member of Valley View Baptist Church. Arthur was a well known member of the community and enjoyed dominoes and visiting with friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents Arthur and Mattie Traylor; his grandparents; three brothers and a daughter.
He leaves to cherish his memories; four sons, Charles, Daniell, and Byron Traylor of Abilene and JaRon Cummings of Abilene; a daughter Arlyn Traylor of Massachusetts; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
