Mrs. Billie Sue Buchalla, born January 29th, 1933, in Newcastle, TX, passed away on May13th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Billie Sue married Richard Buchalla in 1949 and moved to Abilene in 1951, where they welcomed two beloved children, Norman Dale and Sandra Kay.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her son, Norman, and her brother, Ronnie.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Sandra, 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Kristy, Neisha and Caitlin, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews she loved as her own, and her furry companion, Bella.
Billie, often called “Granny,” was a shining light to all that knew her. Her family was her life, and she ensured everyone knew how loved they were. Outside of her family, she enjoyed tending to her flowers & sewing. Billie made many wonderful things throughout the years,
from baby blankets to beautiful quilts. In her youth, Billie also loved family camping trips to the river and spending time at her and Richard’s cabin.
Billie was cherished by many. She loved deeply and will be sorely missed by all the lives she touched.
A Graveside Service will be held at Tye Cemetery, Military & Air Base, Tye, TX 79563, US, on May 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
