Billy "Bill" Charles McMillan

Billy “Bill” Charles McMillan, 83, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at a local medical center. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Highway 36 Church of Christ, 10576 Texas 36, Abilene, TX, with Bob Martin, Greg Melton and Jon Schwiethale officiating. Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 7:30 to 9:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Bill was born on November 12, 1930 in Cross Plains, Texas to Lloyd and Vernie West McMillan. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents; his two sisters, Erna Havner and Patsy Hunt.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Wilma McMillan; his two sons, Joel T. Lawson and wife Laine, and James Doyel Lawson; his two sisters, Judy Smoot and Glenda Smith; his grandsons, Shawn Lawson and wife Elizabeth, and Jason Lawson; his great-grandson, Devlin Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highway 36 Church of Christ or Hendrick Hospice.
