The family will receive friends for a visitation at 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 18, 2023 followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Deori Newman of New Light Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with Military Honors.
Billy Ray Spivey was born in Odessa, TX to Vernon Ray Spivey and Dora Jane Searcy on March 7, 1946. He attended Cooper High School in Abilene, TX. Billy graduated from Cisco Junior College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Arts. He served the U.S Army for 3 years with the 1st Calvary Division based out of Fort Hood, Tx and received a Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Billy Ray Spivey was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Ray Spivey and Dora Jane Searcy; sister, Carolyn Ryan; brother, Rod Spivey; aunts, Pearl Beaird and Virgie Whitaker and cousin, David Thomas.
Billy Ray Spivey was loved by many and is survived by his wife, Jackie Spivey of 57 years; sons, David Spivey and Danny Spivey his wife Naomi; grandson and best buddy, Kiyoshi Jack Spivey.
