Bobby was born on July 23, 1934 to the late Calvin Barton Collins and Edna Lou (Israel) Collins in San Angelo, Texas. At an early age, Bobby ended his formal education to help his father and thus began his lifelong tradition of hard work. He joined the United States Navy and served his country both honorably and faithfully. Bobby married Jeannie and together they moved to Midland, Texas and raised their three children. He later adopted his son, Robert. Life took Bobby too many different states and cities to live before settling back in San Angelo. Bobby married the love of his life, Patricia on January 23, 1982 together they merged both of their families to create one. Together Bobby and Patricia lived in San Angelo and Snyder before settling in Abilene. Bobby loved his family and life only got better as the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren came along, he became a big teddy bear to them. Bobby loved being truck driver and though he retired more than once he always found himself working again. His career included hauling sheep to hauling oil and much more. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing on the lake when he lived on Possum Kingdom. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life sitting back watching is favorite westerns or boxing, and he enjoyed playing different games.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Richard Collins and Tim Burnett; daughter, Vicki Collins; three grandchildren, D.J, Cheyenne, and Martin; and two brothers, Calvin and Franklin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Collins; children, Bobby Collins, Jr. and his wife, Susan, Robert Collins, Mickey Burnett, and Vickie Flake; over 30 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
