Brenda Kay Casarez

Brenda Kay Casarez, 59, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in Decatur, Georgia. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. this morning, February 20, 2013, at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene, TX, with burial following in Dudley Cemetery, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home.

Brenda was born on June 7, 1953 in Abilene, TX to Martin and Stella Escamia Casarez.

Brenda enjoyed shopping, traveling, meeting new people, and the ocean. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Brenda just enjoyed life and she could always make you smile. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic church.

Preceding her in death was her father; and her great-grandmother, Betty Reyes.

Survivors include her mother, Stella Casarez of Abilene; her sons, Jeffery Dwayne Gray of Atlanta, GA, Lance J. Holmes, Jr. and Marcus Garvey Holmes both of Atlantic City, NJ, Antoine Jamar Holmes of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Malissa Joyce Gray of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Danny, Steve, and Ralph Casarez all of Abilene; sisters, Betty Casarez of Abilene, Mary Ann Cruz of Clyde, and Stella Hernandez of Abilene; eighteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
