Clinton Crenshaw Gayle

Clinton Crenshaw Gayle, resident of Colleyville, TX, formerly of Abilene, TX, passed away on May 10, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Clinton was born in Imperial Valley, CA on July 4, 1936. He was raised in California & Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School and later McMurry College in Abilene, TX. He had a long illustrious Naval career. Highlights of his time served were in Vietnam and as an instructor at the War College in DC. His hobbies included his love of explosives, history, dachshunds and wood-working. We will miss his ornery personality and that mischievous smile preceding many pranks or events. He will be sadly missed by Nathan Gayle (son), Crystal Gayle (daughter-in-law), 2 grandchildren, Joe & Frankie and his 2 fur-babies, Blue & Thelma. In addition, several Outlaws through his marriage to his beloved Sue. He was predeceased by Sue Gayle (wife), Marsha Gayle (daughter), Jack Henry & Gertrude Gayle (parents), Diantha Gayle (sister), & a variety of fur-babies. A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 9 to 11am, prior to the service at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. A June memorial service is to be scheduled in Colleyville, TX. The family has requested any Memorial Donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation & Diamond Dachshund Rescue in Austin, TX.
