Collene June Miller

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St., Abilene Texas, with Reverend Jimmy Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Collene was born April 12, 1930 to William Bryson and Iva Lee Watson Bryson in Callahan County, TX. She attended schools in Oplin, Texas and married Lester C. Miller on July 13, 1946. Collene worked for Timex as a factory worker for 16 years before retiring and had a doll shop in Baird, Texas called "Creations by Collene".

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester C. Miller in 1992; and a brother, Dan Bryson.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Kirkpatrick of Deer Park, Carolyn Miller of Irving, and Kimberly Pursley of New York; two sisters, Billie Knox of La Vernia and Sue Freeman of Baird; one grandchild, Jeff Walker of Van, TX; three great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehab Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, TX 79605.

Her daughters wish to thank her family and friends for all of their love and support. They wish to extend their gratitude to Hurst Plaza Nursing Home, Primary Physician Keith Robinson, and to her hospice nurses for their tender, loving care.
