Our beloved Mother, Grandmother Corine S. Prince 89, of Abilene exchanged her "physical body for a heavenly body" on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Corine was born January 28, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Tommy and Lercia Stubblefield.
Corine cam from Amarillo, Texas to Abilene, Texas in 1952. She united with Bethel Church of God in Christ under the late Rev. W. W. Fields, Pastor and currently presiding Elder J.C. Johnson. Corine served as the Sunshine Band President, Sunday School secretary and was a member of the choir. She was a faithful member for many years.
Corine married the late Melvin C. Prince Sr. in 1953. Corine was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Murtha for many years, and Mrs. M.E. Wylie until her retirement.
Corine was preceded in death by her parents Tommy and Lercie Stubblefield, her husband Melvin C. Prince Sr., three sisters; Mattie Johnson, Beulah Faye Rhineheart, Marjorie Hodge and two brothers; Tommy B. Stubblefield, and Cornelious Stubblefield.
To cherish her memory one son Melvin C. Prince Jr., one daughter Mildred and Dwayne Williams, two grandsons; Darrin Williams, Jeremy and Brittany Williams with special son Raymond Stubblefield, special daughter Karen Spaar, special grandson Noel Spaar, four sisters Edna Stubblefield, Annie Akers, Anna Ashley, Calversie Patton, and a host of nephews and nieces.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 634 Cottonwood, with burial to follow at Abilene IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
