David Lee Chitty

A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories 5701 Hwy. 277 S. in Abilene with Rev. Margaret Warn-Walker officiating.

David was born on August 24, 1955 in San Luis Obispo, California to the late Charles E. and Erma L. (Volkel) Chitty. After having grown up and living in California for many years, he relocated to Abilene, Texas around 2010 and made it home. He began a career with United Supermarkets until he retired. In his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering with the Taylor Jones Humane Society, where he met many special animals to include his beloved Dallas. He married Carmella Boudreau in 2013 the years they spent together were filled with beautiful memories. David relished in showering his wife with special and sentimental gifts.

He also loved gardening, watching and really taking in the clouds. He will remembered as a kind, and gentle man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dog of over 20 years Sugar. He is survived by his wife, Carmella Chitty; his brother, Daniel Chitty and his wife; numerous other relatives and friends.
