Donald Walcott Clark

Donald was born on July 22, 1936, in Indianola, Oklahoma. He was one of seven children born to the late David Walcott Clark and Rubye Estelle (Caves) Clark Archer. At a young age his father passed away Donald and his siblings learned the value of hard work early on helping on the family farm. Even as an adult Donald enjoyed going back home for vacation assisting his stepfather on the family farm. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1954. He joined the United States Air Force and served honorably. He went onto began a career with Philipps Petroleum where he worked in Odessa. While in Odessa he met a local schoolteacher Betsy Ann Koch who he would eventually marry on July 1,1960. They started their family in Odessa and eventually relocated to Abilene in 1970. Donald went onto work for the City of Abilene, retiring as a Meter Technician. Never one to remain idle he kept busy with a few odd jobs, working in his garden, and keeping an immaculate yard. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing.

Donald’s faith was very important to him. Through the years he and Betsy were active members in Abilene at Second Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist and Broadview Baptist Church. Donald was always a steady presence at Broadview in whatever way he could serve.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and cherished stepfather, Eunice F. Archer; his wife, Betsy Ann Clark; his brothers, Tommy, Joe, Mick and David Clark; his sisters, Billie J. Moss and Pat Talbot.

He is survived by his daughter, Trecia Jean Reis and husband Glen of Abilene; grandson, Coleton Yarborough of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Patti Koch; and numerous nieces, nephews’ family members and friends.
