Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church with Very Rev. Dr. Santiago Udayar, Celebrant. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August August 18, 2021 at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 S. in Abilene.
Donna was born on November 24, 1935 in DeKalb, Illinois, to the late Donald and Zita (Barr) Moore. Her mother passed at an early age and she was raised by her maternal grandparents. Growing up she attended Catholic Schools. She married and moved to Alaska following her husband's military career and there she began her family. She eventually married the love of her life, Gary Cooper on October 6, 1973. Their union joined not only them but their combined five children as well. In the early 1970's, the family relocated to Austin. Donna worked for several medical offices as an accountant. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church where she was a member of the Legion of Mary, and a Volunteer on Pro Life. Donna and Gary relocated to Abilene in 2004, to be near family and became members of Holy Family Catholic Church. Later, they relocated to Buffalo, Texas. Donna's faith was center of her life; her family was next, especially her grandchildren. She was a simple and loving woman whose memory will live on.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother, Zita Barr Moore and father, Donald Moore, her sister, Jeannie Pickard and grandparents, Andrew Paul Barr and Mary Balleusufer Barr.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Cooper; son, Andrew Lee Schultz, Daughter, Theresa Ann Lackey and her husband, Ricky, Donald Joseph Schultz, Johnny Dowell Cooper and Michael Shane Schultz; a host of loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
