Dorothy Ray Day

Dorothy Ray Day, 78, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at a local medical center in Abilene. Graveside services will be 1:00p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in the Abilene City Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Lenz officiating under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene, TX.

Dorothy was born on April 15, 1934 to Ray Andrews and Ruth Elizabeth Bogart in Abilene, TX. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Dorothy also belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, Floyd Andrews.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Day of Rowden, TX; her son, Sam Day Jr. and wife, Patricia Kay also of Rowden, TX; her daughters, Ruth Montgomery and husband, Carl of Abilene and Rebecca Perry and husband, Ricky of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, James Andrews and wife, Mary of San Angelo, TX and Robert Andrews and wife, Verdale of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister, Liz Griffith of Abilene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
