
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene.
Dorothy was born October 12, 1929, to Carl Caswell and Mamie Beauchamp Caswell in Colorado City, Texas. She graduated from Colorado City High School and in 1947 married Jim Pleasant and they moved to Chandler, Arizona, where they raised their family. In 1976, Dorothy and Jim moved to Eula, Texas, and were active in the community. During these years Dorothy worked at the USDA cotton classing division in Abilene. The couple moved to Abilene in 1997. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and entertaining. She taught children in Sunday School for many years and was a member of Lytle South Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Pleasant; a son, Craig Pleasant; a brother, Richard Caswell; and a sister, Carol Richardson.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Pleasant and wife, Beverly, of Flagstaff, Arizona and Jeffery Pleasant and wife, Ricia, of Albany, Texas; a daughter, Laurie Moore and husband, Dean, of Abilene; a sister, Pauline Rains and husband, Elbert, of Abilene; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
